Details
A handsome Jacobean Revival occasional chair with a panelled backrest of geometric relief carving and finely turned baluster legs, united by square stretchers. The solid arms flow into the uprights, balancing symmetry and strength. Newly reupholstered by our in-house team in Melbourne in a refined blue and cream cotton linen, it pairs modern comfort with timeless appeal. Warm oak tones, visible tool marks and gentle wear reveal its early-20th-century craftsmanship. Perfect for a study, bedroom or living space, it bridges rustic English tradition with contemporary ease - architectural, honest and gracefully aged. Perfectly suited for numerous spaces from the city, coast or country; the blue and neutral fabric is classic while also being contemporary.
Listing is for one chair.
Edition 1 of 1.
Style
Jacobean Revival, popular from the late-Victorian era through to the inter-war period, reinterpreted 17th-century English design. Drawing on the decorative style that emerged under James I (hence the name Jacobean), it is known for its solid oak construction, architectural lines, geometric carving, and high panelled backs. Jacobean Revival furniture feels enduring, noble, and deeply rooted in English craftsmanship, yet practical for contemporary living.

A Note on Character & Age
Each vintage and antique piece in our collection carries its own history - a quiet record of time, craftsmanship, and use. These are not new items; their gentle imperfections, subtle marks, and rich patina are part of what make them unique and beautiful.
We see these characteristics not as flaws, but as evidence of a life well-lived - the depth and texture that only age can bestow. Minor variations from the images may occur, reflecting each piece’s singular story. Unless otherwise stated, all sales are final.
