Details
A petite and romantic mirror sourced at a weekend brocante in Paris. The frame is painted in a deep terracotta red, its edges and mouldings delicately gilded in gold leaf, giving the piece a warm, layered patina. Could be used portrait or landscape. The mirror itself is not aged and has been updated over time. The combination of colour and gilding creates an elegant tension between rustic restraint and luxury. Perfect for leaning on a mantle in a vignette, a small hallway, on a shelf or in a gallery hang. An interesting piece that can be moved based on feeling - a mirror that both anchors and illuminates a space.
Listing is for one mirror.

Style
This piece embodies the spirit of French provincial craftsmanship of the 1930s–1950s, when artisans re-interpreted classical and Art Deco geometry through painted finishes and hand-applied gilding. The clean, cut-corner profile nods to modernism, while the red-and-gold palette recalls the warmth of earlier Louis-era interiors - an effortless blend of tradition and modern refinement.
